PHD Tackle Policies & Information

Shipping

Revised: May 1, 2026

PHD Tackle is committed to providing fair shipping rates without inflating product prices. We use a tiered rate shipping system that is both reasonable and competitive, based on our status as a small business. We are not a large corporate based retailer with access to deeply discounted bulk shipping rates therefore we must be able to cover our costs. We do not structure our shipping rates as a means of increasing profits, but as a means to simply cover our costs. At checkout you can choose between USPS and UPS shipping options.  Fishing rods are very expensive to ship and will be shipped with the carrier offering the lowest cost.

UPS and USPS both offer reliable service with tracking services. USPS is the default shipping carrier and UPS is a premium service. If you choose USPS but a better rate is offered by UPS, you may be upgraded at no additional charge. If you are pay for UPS but are inadvertently downgraded, contact us within 30 day. Each instance, if any, will be handled on a case by case basis.

Business days exclude weekends, holidays, and any days the carrier is not operating. Orders may ship from multiple locations, including distributor or manufacturer warehouses, which may affect delivery times or tracking information. Our goal is to ship your order as soon as possible, but in some cases it may take up to 72 hours. We do our best to notify you if there is a delay in shipment of your order.

If you need your order by a specific date, contact us before purchase. Expedited shipping options may be available upon request for an additional charge.

Incorrect/Insufficient Address
It is the duty of the customer to provide PHD Tackle with a correct, deliverable address for all orders. Packages shipped to the address provided by the customer that are returned to PHD Tackle due to an incorrect or insufficient address will not be reshipped. The customer will receive a refund for the order minus the shipping cost and 5% restock fee.

Oversized Items
Oversized and heavy items like fishing rods, ice augers, and fishing nets require supplemental shipping charges in addition to the tiered shipping rates to cover the shipping cost. These are clearly shown at checkout. The supplemental charges take into account the base tier shipping charge. You are not being charged twice for shipping. It is shown in two parts for transparency.

Shipping Errors
If a carrier error occurs, such as a package delivered to the wrong address, you agree to work directly with the carrier to open and pursue the claim or investigation. We will provide reasonable assistance with documentation we have available, such as shipment details and tracking information.

Damaged, Lost, or Missing Shipments
PHD Tackle is not responsible for packages that are lost, stolen, or damaged after the carrier marks the shipment as accepted or delivered. Any claims must be filed with the carrier. We will provide reasonable assistance with documentation and tracking information upon request.

Missing Mail
If USPS tracking shows delivery but you did not receive your order, you may file a Missing Mail Search with USPS. If found, USPS will redeliver or return the item. If not, you may be eligible to file a claim depending on insurance coverage.

Stolen Packages
If your package was marked delivered and cannot be found, report the theft to your local law enforcement and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
